Well if they drive into tram tracks they will certainly drive into bus lanes!

On trams, i have a theory that a far less expensive and flexible way of doing eco friendly urban transport is using large electric buses in strictly enforced bus lanes. But our problem is that we seem unable to "strictly enforce" bus lanes. Hence we spend a fortune on rails, overhead power etc. Any merit in my theory?

I've no idea if it's true or not, but I've worked a lot in the Low Countries and there's definitely a cultural difference where Dutch people can work around trams in very narrow old cities, whereas here if you put like a train track alongside a four lane dual carriageway some British drivers will definitely crash their cars onto it.
